My BIGGEST Facebook pet-peeve is people sharing posts that are out of date or just plain false.

Missing children and lost pets top the list of out-of-date posts. These shares are well-meaning, but before you share, take a moment and open/read the link. Check the date. Is it old news? Click on the link - often the story has been updated with the wonderful news that the missing child/pet has been located.

Other annoying shares are stories that have a political agenda and are typically real news stories that are misrepresented to cause fear and hate.

While Facebook has a list of 10 steps to spot a false news story, I have one. Before you share a post, click on the link and actually read the story. Make sure the date is current and the headline matches the story. Still not sure? Google it.
